My family had an unforgettable 4th of July weekend near Ashland, Oregon. We met up with my mom, siblings, in-laws, nephews, and nieces at my brother Doug's house, which sits on top of a mountain.  Like most of our family functions, it was controlled chaos for three days.

Last night, we held our second rehearsal for the Sunday School musical "My Favorite Christmas."  Our cast includes Elle Kimura, Taylor Fong, Nina Fong, Chris Chin, Nicole Fong, Eddie Silva, Hank Din, Sharon Wong,  and Randy Fong.  Yes, we have parents and teachers involved. I think everyone is in for a real treat.

I was in Manila on Saturday 9/26 when the typhoon Ketsana (local name "Ondoy") dropped  a month's worth of water in less than six hours. The downpour was just breathtaking. What started as an awesome feeling soon turned into dread as you could see streets, homes, and businesses fill up with water.
