A Note from Pastor Chris to the Church Family

Dear CCC Family,

It’s a joy and an honor to step into this new chapter with you as your lead pastor. From the first time I visited CCC, I could sense a love for God and a genuine heart for people. Jesus Himself said this sums up the entirety of Scripture: Love God and love people. I look forward to continuing in that spirit and seeing what God will do in our midst.

As we begin this journey, my prayer is that CCC will remain a place where people encounter Christ, find community, and are equipped to serve both here and around the world. Let’s walk into this next season expectant for what God will accomplish through His Spirit and His people.

I can’t wait to meet you, hear your stories, and discover how we can grow together in Christ.

With gratitude and anticipation,

Pastor Chris and Jenny Milbrath

Announcements - january 6, 2025

1.  This Sunday, Pastor Chris will preach “Finding God” with John 8: 31-36 as Scripture.

2.  Praise God for Pastor Chris’ installation last Sunday as our new spiritual leader of our church!  The auspicious event was officiated by our brother and Consistory elder Tom Fong and Pastor Steve Duyst of Tulare Community Church, representing our denomination Alliance of Reformed Churches.

We pray that God will give Pastor Chris wisdom, strength, and grace as he continues ministering to our church family. We pray also for his wife Jenny who will help him in his work. May his servant-leadership role guide our church in active ministry and evangelism, while serving the individual spiritual needs of our church family, friends, and community. We pray for more folks to join our church and that Pastor Chris and the church family will also be used by God to bring people to trust Jesus Christ to be their Lord and Savior – leading to salvation by grace through faith (Ephesians 2: 8-9).

3. We appreciate all our guests, neighbors, walk-ins, and friends who continue to attend our services and grace our events and activities! It would be a blessing if you could join us again in worship and fellowship!

4. Everyone is invited to our Basketball Spaghetti Dinner on January 24, 2026 (a Saturday), 5:00-7:00PM at CCC!  Tickets are $15 - contact our sister Yvonne for tickets or email Alan for info. Please pre-purchase tickets so that we can make better headcount estimates during the dinner preps. To-go orders will be available. A raffle will be held and we’ll have lotsa fun!

Prayer/Praise

Please lift up our friend Kenton Fong in prayer as he continues to battle serious illness and that He will experience God's comfort and healing in his suffering. Pray for God’s guiding Hand and wisdom for Kenton's doctors as they treat him, and for strength and grace for his family as they take care of him. Kenton has been a basketball board member for 15+ years now and has helped in church activities for many years.

Please pray for healing for Maybelle Whang, Jan Bowman, Rachel Chou, Sharon Wong.

This week’s Scripture –

"Abram believed the Lord, and He credited it to him as righteousness." –Genesis 15:6, NIV

 Reflect –

"The life of Abraham is an illustration of two things: of unreserved surrender to God, and of God’s complete possession of a child of His – for His own highest end." – Oswald Chambers (1874-1917)

Takeaway –

The measure of our obedience to God indicates the depth of our faith in Him.
